Come on cousin, let us do the dance of joy! Anyone know where that's from? LOL! Well, that's how I'm feeling right now. Finally done with the two morning presentations and the culminating presentation for summer school. Next week will be our last.
Then we'll have three more of vacay before school starts (August 15). I'm hoping to enjoy it as much as I can. It'll be great because Reg is taking a week off around that time and we're definitely going to make the most of it! Don't know how, but can't wait! That means we'll be together, every day, every single hour and every minute, every second, breathing the same air... I tell him this and he laughs like I'm joking.
I'm joking!! LOL!
Currently chatting with my brother on MSN and he showed me something funny. He's doing homework (has to create a 3D model of a swingset) and I guess he googled it (funny how googled is now a word, huh?). Anyway, the FIRST result on google images showed a swingset. But the thing is, there are bodies that look unconscious (or worse) hanging from it.
Not what you'd expect! http://images.google.com/images?q=swing+set&hl=en&btnG=Search+Images if you'd like to see.
Anyway, my kids were so cute during their performance, which was filmed by KGTF by the way.
My coworkers said that I'll definitely be in the footage. Greeaaat. The whole island will see me yelling ... KIDDING! They did a good job. I know they could've done better, but I'm just not that creative. My goodness, the kindi-kids were SO AWESOME! Their teacher, who is awesome, had them do a dance to a surfer song... 50s style.
Too cute!
Our kids did the best they could. We had a few who were just too nervous that they forgot their parts (they had to flip their large word cards on cue). One child presented his upside-down, which got laughs. After the song was over, they verbally presented on their words and sounds. We made sure our cutie with the Pinoy accent was one of those presenting. "Por ower presentation too-day, we well be singing 'When toh bowels go walkin,' tank you!"
For first graders, they were pretty quick to learn their parts! I was so impressed! I was a little upset because my partner was not in for the whole week (but she was at a workshop so...
) including yesterday. She's been letting me take the helm as far as our teaching responsibilities. It's okay, I can't complain much because she's such a nice lady.
Since my partner's been gone, I've been doing her the favor of dropping home two students. Not something I feel comfortable with, but as usual, I can't say no. Anyway, the girl usually rides in the back and the boy in the front. I don't understand their reasoning for this since I drop the boy off first (I just do not feel comfortable with this!). Anyway, I had to drop the boy off last yesterday so the girl sat up in the front (again, how exactly they figure... IDK!!). As always, I waited for them to put their seatbelts. When I turned to my passenger to check, I couldn't help my reaction.
"WHOA!" I said as I saw her face! She had yellow bumps all over, evidently it was chicken pox!!! Holy Hell!! I knew I shouldn't have shown my reaction - it's not going to make her feel better - but I was just so shocked! I asked her why she was still coming to school and I think she didn't know I was referring to her marks. Finally, I got her to understand that she might have chicken pox. The boy in the back kept wanting to see. I had to put down her visor for him to glimpse.
Then he said the magic words: I haven't gotten chicken pox yet. Well kid, kiss your summer goodbye!!
I was telling my brother and we agreed that we're thankful that our parents were not negligent, esp. when we were ill. Some things you need to be grateful for. So we'll see if the girl's parents send her to school on Monday. I'll be checking on her personally and not only that, I'm going to talk to her teacher who should've noticed and apparently did NOT!
Well, that was it for my day yesterday. This whole week, we've been attending rosaries for our friend's mother. Life is too short and too unpredictable. Please don't waste any opportunities to let the ones who count know that you love them. Eileen, thanks so much for getting the Harry Potter book for me. Well, for Sheila since I don't read. LOL! Sheila also thanks you and greatly appreciates it. Thank you and Erin for the favor and hope you're doing well! Safe trip to Erin!!
Okay. Going to get to work on my next layout project. Actually, I have been starting but not finishing projects so I've got a handful that have yet to be completed. LOL! Wish me luck!
Love you all and take care!
